The purpose of the Economic Development Committee is to develop and recommend programs which will foster a climate and environment within the Municipality which will attract new business and promote the expansion of existing businesses.  Typical activities of the Committee are as follows:

a) To identify and recommend to the Administration and City Council government programs which may provide funding for business expansion and support the Municipality for the accomodation of such expansion. b) To establish contact and a liason with state and federal agencies which may influence business development in this area.  c) To identify other incentives to attract business.  d) To act as a liason group to meet and work with prospective businesses consideration locating in this area.  e) To oversee, facilitate and recommend revisions to the action items found in the City's Economic Development Plan.  (Ord. 20-03.  Passed 2-10-03.)
